Welcome To Renavida

A New Beginning for Every Kidney

"Renavida," embodies the spirit of rebirth—both in the lives of those who give and receive the precious gift of a kidney. By combining the word "rena" (meaning "kidney" in Spanish) with the concept of rebirth, we aim to inspire hope and healing for those affected by kidney disease.

Who We Are

Empowering Lives Through Kidney Donation

At Renavida, our mission is to transform the lives of individuals within the Hispanic community affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and other kidney conditions by facilitating living kidney donations and raising awareness about kidney health. Inspired by the personal journey of our founder, Nercy, who has battled PKD and witnessed its impact on her family, Renavida is dedicated to bridging the gap between those in need of a kidney transplant and potential donors.

We strive to empower underserved communities with crucial information, resources, and support, while fostering a compassionate network of donors and recipients. By leveraging innovative approaches and collaborating with existing organizations, we aim to create a beacon of hope and a pathway to life-saving kidney donations. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, Renavida is committed to improving kidney health outcomes and building a healthier future for those affected by PKD.

Living Kidney Donation

Why Consider Living Kidney Donation?

By choosing to donate a kidney, you have the opportunity to make an extraordinary impact on someone’s life. Living kidney donation offers better outcomes for recipients compared to deceased donor transplants, including shorter waiting times and a lower risk of rejection. Your act of generosity can help reduce the transplant waiting list and offer hope to those suffering from kidney failure.

What is Living Kidney Donation?

Living kidney donation involves donating one of your two healthy kidneys to someone in need, often a family member, friend, or even a stranger.

The Donation Process

The process of becoming a living kidney donor involves several steps, starting with a comprehensive medical evaluation to ensure you are a suitable donor.

Benefits of Living Donation

Donors often report a deep sense of satisfaction and emotional reward from helping another person in such a profound way.

Life After Donation

Most donors lead completely normal lives after donating a kidney. Your remaining kidney will take on the work of both, and your overall health will be closely monitored following the donation.
